Cornwall's £1.5 Million Parking Fines

A Cornish driver is hit with a parking ticket every five minutes.

Pirate FM has learnt 36,000 were dished out here last year.

We are three times more likely to get one in Falmouth or Truro.

The city's Lemon Street is the most ticketed place in the Duchy.

These locals are not surprised:

"People park here because they don't want to pay the phenomenally expensive parking tickets; they just want to make money. On an average day I can walk down the road and three cars will have been ticketed and I walk down here every day"

"I've parked here twice now and both times I've come back, after only being gone 15 - 20 minutes, and both times I've been ticketed"

"I definitely won't park here at all"

David works on Lemon Street:

"There should be concessions for people who work within Truro to encourage them to park in the satellite car parks around the City. Then, for people who want to park for shopping purposes, they've got more spaces available to them"
