There is a promise Cornwall's rail network will not be left out in the cold.

The Transport Minister is visiting the Duchy as the First Great Western franchise comes up for renewal.

Theresa Villiers has pledged the sleeper to London is safe.

She says she is keen to see other services improved too:

"We recognise the end of the line feeling that some people have and we realise that constraints on the road network in Cornwall mean that it's particularly important that we see good rail services delivered."

"We've got a strong focus on ensuring the railway works better together to get running costs down and help us deliver the improved services that passengers want, to help us deliver a better service to passengers and taxpayers in the future"
