Road Safety Fears

More people are being killed and seriously injured on Cornwall's roads.

Statistics from the Department of Transport seen by Pirate FM make grim reading.

19 lost their lives and just over 200 were seriously hurt last year.

Kevin Clinton is from RoSPA:

"Previous years we saw very very large reductions and those were probably not going to continue, and we had some external factors. For example we had some very very poor weather like lots of snow in 2010"

But he fears it could also be the impact of cuts:

"There is certainly a concern that if there is less emphasis on road safety, if the police are not able to be out there as much as they were previously then, we may see what happened in 2011 being the start of an upward trend"
