Cornwall on weather watch.

The severe warning for heavy rain and risk of flooding has been upgraded to 'Amber' and will be in force from 5pm on Friday evening.

The Met Office says that means 'be prepared'.

The Westcountry Tonight's Bob Crampton reckons we will face the aftermath of storms up country: "We're going to have some really hefty showers coming in. The rain that's going to be causing some concern in the Midlands, later on it spins round and comes back to cover the whole of the Westcountry".

Flood alerts are already in place for rivers in West Cornwall.
