The Plymouth boss admits his side 'got away with it'.

They held on for a nil-nil draw against Dagenham and Redbridge on Tuesday night for their first point of the new season.

Fletcher's men could only watch as the home side dominated proceedings, testing Argyle 'keeper Jake Cole several times in the first-half.

Cole stood strong, though, producing save after save to deny a hungry Daggers front line.

Then, in the second period, the Daggers attacked once more but again Cole was equal to their onslaught, denying Ugo Ogogo and Dwight Gale in the last 20 minutes.

Ultimately, Argyle stood strong and the Pilgrims came away from the capital with their first point of the npower League 2 season.

Boss Carl Fletcher said: "We didn't play very well. It just wasn't there for us. Sometimes that happens in football. The important thing was when it didn't go well we got something out of the game.

"You can prepare right, do everything right and feel 100% then you get to the game and it just doesn't happen. Then other times you're a bit under the weather, or something's gone wrong, or you've got a bit of a niggle, or the team's not right or something like that and it comes easily and it's the perfect game."
