Man Rescued 30ft up Cliff

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 7:03am 23rd August 2012.

A helicopter has plucked a fisherman to safety, from thirty feet up a Cornish cliff.

Both Newquay lifeboats and coastguard teams were involved in the rescue at Bedruthan Steps on Wednesday night. But they were not able to reach the man who had scrambled up to escape the incoming tide.

A team from RNAS Culdrose winched him up.

It comes a week after a holidaymaker was swept to his death when a fishing trip went wrong near Tintagel.

Sixty-two year old David Hart from Ludlow in Shropshire was packing up to go home.
