David Cameron has braved the bank holiday gloom for a family holiday in north Cornwall.

He and wife Samantha have been snapped eating mussels in Polzeath.

They are enjoying another holiday in the Duchy, due to last until the weekend, although the Prime Minister will fly back to London for the opening ceremony of the Paralympics.

The Camerons' youngest daughter, Florence, was given the middle name 'Endellion'after she was born in the area during a family holiday two years ago.

Hotels, B and Bs and campsites were hoping for a last minute rush over the weekend despite the somewhat variable weather.

Hazel runs the Rosevine hotel on the Roseland and said tourists are demanding more: "It's service, it's the welcome that they get. That's a huge part of why people come to you if they know that they will be looked after they will come back. I think you have to be flexible and recognise that people don't have as much to spend as they did and tailor your product."
