Sharon Sherman-Lusty and her husband had ended up adopting just months before.

Pirate FM has learnt twenty-nine thousand women in Cornwall are facing fertility problems.

More than a third have been trying IVF for at least five years.

Sharon said: "It seemed at the time everybody could get pregnant. It got to the stage where when somebody told you you'd grit your teeth and tell them, 'Oh, that's fantastic' but still feel inside how unfair it is that you weren't able to do it."

"I did keep a lot of things in. I didn't talk about it a lot. Every month I was highly, highly disappointed. When you're trying year upon year and month upon month it's so hard. Emotionally it's really, really hard."

New research reveals more than a quarter of women admits seeking fertility treatment had left them feeling "devastated" and "incomplete." 40% don't feel they have been given enough information. A third have been having IVF for at least five years.
