Crews say a Saltash farmer is lucky to be alive after a 30 thousand vault electricity cable came crashing down on his tractor.

The man who was out muck spreading at Pillaton yesterday afternoon when he caught the cable was trapped in his cab for four hours.

Fire fighters had to wait for the power to be switched off before they could rescue him.
