A Camborne woman who takes in young people who are homeless or ex-offenders fears she could have to put some out on the streets.

Julie Stoddern has found many jobs, college courses and taught them to drive. She thinks it has been enough to turn some away from a life of crime.

But it has also left her with financial problems of her own.

Now health and safety means two will have to go and extra fire equipment needs to be put in.

The Pirate FM Local Hero Award winner said: "The only way forward for me is I've got to evict the entire lot that are in the house. I'll be making them all homeless again and that's the sad thing about it because some of them are starting college courses, some of them are in full time work. It just seems like I've wasted my time really.

"One of the oldest lads I've been working with for the last fourteen years and supporting him in every way I can. All I receive is housing benefit for them. But when they come out of prisons a lot of them turn up with no clothes and obviously in an emotional state."

Julie is hoping local businesses might be able to help her find the equipment that she needs to meet regulations and carry out repairs on the house.

At the moment she is paying for everything herself.
