There is a stark warning over the future of Redruth Rugby Club.

Players are already going without wages as it battles a cash shortfall.

Bosses say unless they can find £10,000 by the New Year the club may not survive.

Operations Manager Andy Gallie said:

“Although the players are not being paid, this will not be enough on its own for the club to survive.

“We would like to thank the players for bearing with us during this difficult time but we must also look after the interests of all involved at the club including 240 mini junior players. The club is fortunate to have such a large fan base and they have been asked many times in the past to help the club so it is difficult to ask again but times dictate that we must seek funds from wherever we possibly can.

“The future of the club is bright with the changes that have already been proved in our profits this year and hopefully if we can get through this very difficult period, the club will be around for future generations to enjoy.”
