More than eight square miles of Cornwall could be covered in solar panels.

Officials are being asked to approve renewable energy targets in the Duchy.

It would also mean 220 wind turbines going up by 2030.

Pauline Smeeth lives near Week St Mary and is fighting a solar farm nearby:

“The impact on tourism of what is probably going to happen in Cornwall is going to be huge, because there is actually proposed over the whole of Cornwall that there will be a great swathe of solar panel farms interspersed with windmills.

We’re not against renewable energy. We’re not against solar panels or windmills but, what we are against, is the size of this and the fact that you’ve got maybe in some cases a mile or two miles between two separate sites”
