Cornwall has been promised quicker internet thanks to a share of one and a half billion pounds.

The money from Europe will be used to speed up the roll out of superfast broadband.

Southwest Euro MP Graham Watson said: "If you are running a small hotel or guesthouse, and you want customers elsewhere in the world or elsewhere in the UK to be able to look at the facilities you offer online, they can now do so more quickly."

Southwest MEP Julie Girling added: "We do have reasonably large towns, they're not bad. But we have alot of people living in very rural areas and they have been severely disadvantaged."
