The final free parking is being being scrapped at Newquay Airport.

The pick-up and drop-off zones are going too.

Instead there will be a £1 charge for the first half hour.

MD Al Titterington has told Pirate FM they need to bring in more revenue. He thinks any extra could help negotiate new flights: "Car parking charges at Newquay are significantly cheaper than other airports. This particular increase will assist in generating additional incomes that will ultimately go towards supporting the reduction of the subsidies from the taxpayers of Cornwall.

"It's well recognised within the UK and within the industry that the airlines are driving their costs right down and they are looking to the airports to offer even cheaper deals. We have to be looking to generate income streams to ensure that, at a minimum, we cover our costs."
