Teams searching for the teenager who jumped off the Torpoint ferry have found a body.

Jordan Cobb has not been seen since plunging into the Tamar on his way to a New Year's Eve party in

The sixteen year old may have done it for a £100 bet.

Last week police told Pirate FM the hunt would not be stood down till there were answers for his family.

They have been told about the discovery.

Pirate FM held off on reporting the news on Wednesday evening to give officers time to break the news.

The body still needs to be formally identified.

A police spokesperson said: "At just before 5.00 pm this evening, Wednesday 16th January, police received a report of a body in the Tamar River on the Torpoint side of ferry.

"A Ministry of Defence Police launch, together with Coastguards, searched the river and at around 5.15 pm a body was recovered.

"Police will now make enquires to establish the identity of the body.

"The family of Jordan Cobb, who went missing on New Year's eve, have been kept fully informed of events."

The sixteen year old's friends launched a frantic hunt for him, alongside police, coastguards, the RNLI and divers.

However, police were forced to admit that the chances of finding Jordan alive were all but gone.
