Pirate FM has learnt drivers in Cornwall are paying six hundred and fifty pounds an hour to park in Cornwall.

Statistics have revealed Cornwall Council brought in almost six million pounds in charges last year.

That includes money from tickets, fines and permits. The figure has dropped from the year before.

Kevin Delaney from the Institute of Advanced Motorists did the research.

He said: "If you look back, over a very long period of time, local authorities have a long and honourable tradition of milking the motorist, at almost every available opportunity.

"At the time when the rest of short of cash, they are finding yet more ways of extracting cash from their residents, from their businesses and from people who move into their area. Sooner or later, people will get sick of paying parking charges and go and shop somewhere else."
