It is revealed a child left fighting for life after a crash near Bude is just four years old.

The little boy's car overturned at Launcells on Saturday.

He was airlifted to Derriford hospital but has now been transferred to Frenchay in Bristol.

A woman and another youngster managed to scramble clear of the scene on the A3072 midway between Bude and Holsworthy.

Fire crews from Bude, Holsworthy and Bodmin were scrambled to the scene, along with a helicopter from RMB Chivenor and one of Devon’s air ambulances.

Rescuers say the car was on its roof when they arrived.

Police do not think any other vehicles were involved.

They want to hear from anybody who saw the Blue Honda before the crash at around 1.15pm on Saturday.

Witnesses are being asked to call 101 quoting reference 367 160313.

Police had originally said the lad was five, but corrected the information on Monday morning.
