Car Accident Hoax
2:02pm 5th April 2013
A Callington woman has told Pirate FM she was left stunned and sickened after a hoax caller told her a family member had been in a car crash.
Avril Reid hung up the call and called police to check if it was true.
She says other members of her family have been targeted too: "My whole body shook, my legs went, I felt sick. My kids are my life, oh, if anything happened to them, can you imagine? To put someone through that? I'm angry now just thinking about it. I can't understand why somebody would want to do that to somebody.
"My nan got a phone call. She's 92. Can you imagine how she felt? I am more aware now. If I hear this again I'll take a lot more notice and let's just say they probably won't get away without an ear bashing next time."
