David Beckham Retires: Cornish Football Coach Reacts
8:02am 19th May 2013
A Cornish football coach reckons David Beckham will be a role model for generations.
The former England captain who flew the Olympic Torch to Cornwall will retire at the end of the season saying it is the "right time."
Graham Buckley trains kids at Rosudgeon near Penzance.
He said David Beckham has got skills on and off the pitch: "He is very much seen as a very positive figure in the way he speaks, He's not just seen on the football, he's seen doing charity work, he's been heavily involved with the Olympics, so he transcends into other areas of life really.
"I've certainly watched a number of England games live and you only really, truly appreciated him and what he did when you saw him play live because he just wanted the ball so much on the football pitch. I think he'll be really badly missed."
