VIDEO: Could Seagulls Target Bake-Off?

Published at 11:41am 5th August 2015. (Updated at 1:06pm 5th August 2015)

There are fears seagulls might target the Great British Bake Off.

The show is filmed outside and in a marquee in Berkshire.

According to reports the Daily Star, contestants are worried the birds might get in through the flaps and steal the cakes.

37 year old firefighter Mat Riley, from London, has told the paper: "My main fear would be if a bird flew in through the window.

"I'm not a fan of birds."

It comes as experts claim a change in fishing laws could force the scavengers inland.

It is because trawlers that land unsellable fish cannot throw catches overboard, which might otherwise have been eaten by the gulls.

John Tattan of the South and West Fish Producers' Organisation told the Daily Star: "I'm not surprised they are heading inland because with fewer fish being discarded, they have no option."

Pirate FM has told you about a spate of seagull attacks in Cornwall, including the Yorkshire Terrier that had to be put down and a pet tortoise pecked to death in Liskeard.
