VIDEO: New Adele Song Teased

Published at 6:01am 19th October 2015.

Some people are saying the best thing about The X Factor on Sunday night was the adverts.

It is because, without fanfare (and without any confirmation) a 30 second extract of what sounds like a new Adele song played.

You can see what appeared on screen below - simply the lyrics written in white against a black background - starting with the word "Hello".

But you can't confuse the voice for anyone else.

It is the first time we have heard a new Adele song since 2012, when she performed Skyfall (yes, that was 2012).

Her third album is due out next month and is expected to be so big that almost no other major artist is releasing anything head to head with her.

Viewers heard her sing: "Hello, it’s me / I was wondering if after all these years / you’d like to meet to go over everything / they say that time’s supposed to heal ya / but I ain’t done much healing ..."

Things have changed a lot for Adele since first albums - 19 and 21.

She has become a mum with partner Simon Konecki and, of course, one of the biggest recording stars on the planet, topping the charts in more than 30 countries.
