WATCH: The Crystal Maze Returns - But Not As We Know It...

How's this for A-maze-balls? The Crystal Maze could be back on TV.

But it is going to look different from the way we remember it during the 1990s.

Back then Richard O'Brien and Ed Tudor Pole ran around a series of different zones, helping members of the public solve challenges to win a crystal.

But in October it could be celebrities pitting their wits to raise money for charity.

Channel Four is believed to be preparing for a big budget version of the show, which ran between 1990 and 1995.

If it is a success then an entire series could follow.

Ex-Doctor Who David Tennant is believed to be in the frame to present the remake.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Even two decades after it last aired, there are very few shows that have been as magical and action-packed as The Crystal Maze. It is still remembered extremely fondly today.

“Channel 4 are hoping to tap into that nostalgia and believe viewers will jump at the chance to finally take on the show’s adventurous challenges themselves.”

Take a look at some who wish they hadn't from the original series...
