Changing Your Name To Null Gets You Freebies

Published at 10:10am 30th March 2016.

A man who changed his surname to 'Null' claims that since he did so he has received numerous freebies.

The Reddit user, Raven Felix Null has revealed his blag list includes free nights in seven different hotels, two rental cars and even a root canal.

Not quite sure we would want all of that.

The 24 year old claims that entering 'Null' into a computer system causes problems - such as showing that "the name cannot be left blank".

Raven then gets told his details will be put into the information box later, and he usually does not get charged as a result.

Raven insists he did not change his name to challenge the system. He has told Reddit users that since his name change, it has limited his choice of banks and has stopped him getting an apartment he really wanted.

Will Mr Null be getting into trouble? The Reddit user has revealed that if staff challenge him he threatens to sue.

Raven says that he chose the name 'Null' as: "It means nothing, meaning I am not connected to my family in any way anymore."

To be honest I'm still thinking about the root canal.
