VIDEO: Watch Uncomfortable Men Reading Mean Tweets To Female Sports Reporters

An uncomfortable video showing the harassment that women face online is circulating on the web.

The video published by athletics blog, Just Not Sports aims to raise awareness of the problem in sport, alongside the Twitter hashtag #MoreThanMean.

Female journalists and sports reporters have become particular targets of abuse by trolls on social media.

The video shares ‘real’ men reading hateful comments directed at popular American sport reporters Sarah Spain and Julie DiCaro, right to their faces.

These tweets are more than mean, with many threatening rape and violence.

The severity of the messages gradually increases with the increasingly uncomfortable men looking off camera and debating whether to carry on.

The hard-hitting video ends with the message: “We wouldn’t say it to their faces. So let’s not type it.”
