Justin Bieber's photo with a tiger has sparked a flurry of angry comments on social media.

The Canadian singer posed for a picture with the chained animal at his dad's engagement party, then posted the image on Instagram.

The picture has had over two million likes online.

However many people are furious that the animal was tied and being used as entertainment.

One user said: “What is wrong with the world is that animals are exploited and used for entertainment such as this.”

Another said: “It’s not cute it’s cruel.”

Animal rights organisation, PETA, claimed the tiger was brought to the party from the Bowmanville Zoo.

In a recent blog post the organisation said:

“What Justin and other party guests probably don’t know is that Michael Hackenberger, the owner of the zoo, was recently charged with five counts of cruelty to animals because of PETA’s undercover footage, which shows him viciously whipping a young tiger during a “training” session and then bragging about it.”

Bieber has not commented.
