Published at 6:14am 17th May 2016.

A prankster has recorded the moment he uses a supermarket's PA system to claim there is a paedophile "on the loose."

Gary Bryce gets hold of the microphone in a branch of Asda and then calmly walks down an aisle while announcing: "Attention valued shoppers. Please evacuate the building. There is a paedophile on the loose.

"I repeat, there is a paedophile on the loose."

The video ends with his giggles mingling with the sounds of shouting in the background.

More than 86,000 people have watched the 20 second clip since it was posted online.

Naomi Brown wrote: "Hahaha thats hilarious. Folk are screaming in the backround."

But Sarah Ainsley commented: "Not in the slightest bit funny. I was in Asda at this time with my little girl and I heard this.

"My heart sank. Saw other parents grab their kid's hands in complete shock. Sick individual."

James Alphonsus, one of Mr Bryce's friends, added: "You'll end up in the nick."

Gary replied: "Arresting me on suspicion of talking through a mic...they will need to create a new charge for that."
