Ryan Curnow from Pool in Redruth took up the creative hobby of 3D printing, unable to work due due to epilepsy, his hobby kept his mind busy and helped to maintain his seizures .

Ryan was contacted by a 3D printing site and was asked to produce shield head guards. After completing the product and checked if it met regulations, he is now in full swing of orders.

Suzanne, Ryan’s wife says ‘he has 9 printers all in our bedroom and I am helping as much as I can as due to the isolation, I cannot ask others to come and help‘

‘The product itself is made from an eco-friendly plastic PLA which is made of barley. They have a changeable acetate sheet and an elastic strap of an elastic head strap

‘I have had a really high demand in orders and have supplied to many key workers in our community already, I am just glad to give something back. The NHS has saved my life a number of times and to be able to help them is a privilege ‘

‘We are providing this piece of equipment free and only ask for postage. It has cost us quite a bit to set up as we purchased the bulk of the materials ourselves and we delivered to most local locations. We have now set up a donations page so we can use that to buy more materials and keep producing’
