Cornwall makes scrubs

Published at 2:00pm 11th April 2020.

A Facebook page has been set up to make scrubs for Cornish workers needing PPE. This includes everyone who works in a hospital environment, from core workers to admin roles, meaning they won't have to wear their own clothes.

We only set up the Facebook page last Wednesday and we have had over 250 people register online, along with various other volunteers which will help with the logistics of getting the deliveries to where they are needed, throughout Cornwall. We are overwhelmed at how many people want to get involved.

A lot of local businesses have got involved who have sponsored all our printed patterns and have been putting together parcels of materials for people who are self-funding and patterns to print from home.

We have got people making up to 70 sets of full scrubs now and hope to have at least 200 sets by this coming Easter weekend. to be able to make some more we have set up a crowdfunding page to raise more money to buy more materials.

Annie, founder of the page

A go fund me page has also been set up that's managed to raise over £4,000 so far. If you'd like to donate to the cause, fine their go fund me page here.
