Four-year-old Dexter discovers magic

Published at 7:30am 25th April 2020.

Four-year-old Dexter, from Redruth, has been learning as many different skills as possible during lockdown.

Trying to make sure your kids are entertained has become a challenge for many households, but, Dexter has been making the most of spending time at home.

He's been throwing himself into arts and crafts, baking and learning to ride his bike with no stabilisers - which he is nailing!

The Wizard of OZ was chosen for family movie time and Dexter became fixated on being able to fly. Off he went to dress up as a wizard and went into the garden to try it out himself! After making a broom out of two branches, he was unimpressed by the flightless results and began to question magic.

With help from his mum and dad, and little sister Frankie (who is only 21 months old), Dexter started created some extra special magic tricks. He found some simple hints and tips on YouTube and combined them with his own special magic spell words ‘Abracadabra abaca zoo’.

His parents, Megan and David told us ‘Dexter is such a character and it makes us feel really proud to see him interested in learning a new skill and the enjoyment he also gets out of it’.

Here is a little snippet of Dexter's new found magical ability!

We can't wait to see what he learns next!
