Over 200 Cornwall based musicians have come together to create a special lockdown recording of the Les Miserables hit, 'One Day More'.

With theatres across the county shut down, Lockdown Cornwall decided to bring the theatre back into our homes, and all whilst raising money for Age UK.

Launched on the 26th of April, Lockdown Cornwall put out an appeal for singers and musicians and were overwhelmed by the responses - over 400 people, of all ages and backgrounds, wanted to be involved.

'When Keith Edwards came to us with this idea, we expected to get 50-100 people. To see this number of participants is wonderful.'

Helen Hartshorne - Production team member

Participants were sent a piano guide track, sheet music and instructions on how best to video their performance.

The production team received over 17 hours of video, comprising 64 musicians - the size of a full symphony orchestra - 21 soloists and a chorus of 135 singers, and managed to turn the track around within two weeks of the initiative being launched.

'I became part of the project because I loved the idea of bringing Cornish musicians and singers together during lockdown and raising money for Age UK.

What resulted was not only a stunning piece we can be proud of, but a supportive, wonderful community of people'.

Hannah, a member of the chorus

Through the video, Lockdown Cornwall has also been able to raise money for Age UK.

The song has already been a hit, with over 12,000 views at the time of writing so fancy a watch? Here is the final video!
