100 Activities to do in the great indoors

Usually known for their enthusiasm for outdoor pursuits, this week the Scouts have released a list of 100 activities to do in the 'Great Indoors'.

We know the coming days and weeks are going to be difficult for families across the UK, as the spread of Covid-19 causes schools to close. As the experts in developing skills and bringing adventure to young people, we want to do what we can to help.

While we normally love the great outdoors, we’ve pulled together some inspired indoor activity ideas (if we do say so ourselves). Keep your kids learning new skills and having fun (and avoid hearing ‘I’m bored’ every 30 seconds) all in #TheGreatIndoors.

We've had a little look through the list, which has been commended by celebrities including Bear Grylls and astronaut Tim Peak, to pull out our favourite few!

1) Changing your coat

All the most important Lords and Ladies of the past had a sensational coats of arms - now's the chance to create your own! Imagine how fancy signing your Christmas cards is going to look now!

2) A flair for hot air

Supported by the *actual* RAF, learn how to make your very own hot air balloon and watch it fly! Luckily, being inside means it won't float too far away!

3) Guerrilla gardening

Encourage some wildlife into your garden with homemade wildflower seed bombs! As we all have to stay home as much as possible, it's important to make your little slice of garden look its best!

4) Lolly stick catapults

Creating perfect miniature catapults from lolly sticks? Really there's nothing more I have to say.

5) Pinhole pictures

Make your very own version of the first photographic device - can you still take the perfect shot?

6) Storm in a teacup

You *literally* get to make your own tornado - need I say more?

7) Teeny tiny twig rafts

Set sail with your own twiggy raft, will it sink or sail away?

There are out top 5 - but that still leaves 95 for you to discover yourselves. Find the whole list here!
