Amazon's Audible have, due to the coronavirus, made a selection of audiobooks free. These are intended for children and teenagers and can be accessed without the need for an account.

There's a varied selection of titles which are also available in several languages. Not everyone has time to read to their children, especially with schools being closed and people needing to work from home, so this is the perfect opportunity to try audiobooks if you haven't already done so.

Audible released the following statement:

For as long as schools are closed, we're open. Starting today, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.

All stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.

Our TOP 5 audiobooks available for free are:

Timeless Tales of Beatrix Potter: Peter Rabbit and Friends - A classic set of stories for any young listener. The narration is good and, with 21 different stories, you can't go wrong.

Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book: The Mowgli Stories - An audible original, winner of best audio drama 2016 and with a fantastic cast, featuring the voices of Bill Bailey, Richard E. Grant, Colin Salmon, Tim McInnerny, Bernard Cribbins, Celia Imrie, Martin Shaw.

Jane Eyre - Charlotte Brontë's classic is brought to life by Thandie Newton. - It's a great listen for old fans and those that are unfamiliar with the story. You'll also be getting 19 hours of audio for free!

Winnie-the-Pooh: A.A. Milne's Pooh Classics, Volume 1 - Ten fantastic stories from A. A. Milne, which helped establish the Christopher Robin and his lovable bear. Featuring one of my faves 'In Which Eeyore Loses a Tail and Pooh Finds One'.

Hollow City: The Second Novel of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children - Some of you may be familiar with Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children from Tim Burton's 2016 adaption. However, like any adaption, there's plenty more in the books. Unfortunately, Audible haven't made the first novel available, but don't let that put you off from giving 2 and 3 a listen.
