During self-isolation, it's probably not best to be stuck in front of the TV 24/7, and not everyone enjoys sitting down with a book. So, we've compiled this list of audiobooks you might want to give a try to help pass the time.

You can sit in a quiet room and have a listen, or just plug in some headphones and do a few bits around the house.

Gotta Get Theroux This by Louis Theroux - A perfect one for fans, narrated by the man himself with a listening tie of just over 13 hours! He takes you on a journey of his career, the highs and low's and gives you a little insight into his life and personality.

Mythos by Stephen Fry - If you have any interest in Greek mythology, this one is a must-have. Fry takes you through an extensive 15 hour retelling of a number of Greek myths. Introducing you to characters and intertwining stories. If that's not enough, there's a second audiobook Heroes, which continues the stories for another 15 hours!

This is Going to Hurt
This Is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor by Adam Kay - This incredibly insightful and interesting audiobook is written and narrated by the, once doctor, now comedy writer, Adam Kay. It's an emotional roller coaster and with a listening time of just over 6 hours, you'll undoubtedly want to listen again. Luckily, there's a shorter sequel, Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas, for a little extra listening.

A perfect story for old and new listeners, brought vividly to life by its cast, and it would be wrong of us not to feature an audiobook with Pirates. A great listen for over 6 hours.

james acaster
James Acaster's Classic Scrapes – If you’re looking for a bit of a laugh, try this. Narrated by the comedian, listen as he explains; disappointing a skydiving instructor mid-flight, hiding from thugs in a bush wearing a bright red dress, annoying the Kettering Board Games club and more.
