Every day we will be bringing you our Cornish musical recommendations that you can check out for a bit of lockdown listening.

Then each weekend we'll upload our playlist compilation featuring the best of the week.

As well as being featured on Pirate's social media and here on our Superblog, the bands will also get snippets of their songs played on air.

To feature, send us an email with a bio, a picture and links to your social media pages to ellie.hodgkinson@piratefm.co.uk

Motown Pirates are a funky bunch of musicians who just love Motown/Soul/Funk and making you dance the night away..

The Motown Pirates (so called because they ‘pirate’ well known songs and Motown them up a bit).

They have delighted audiences around the country with their soulful voices and funky Motown sound, not to mention inimitable style!

The happy band of musical pirates is fronted by a professional singer with international experience with chart topping bands as well as being genetically perfect in all ways. Well endowed by a fantastic brass section on trumpet/trombone/sax the band invoke the spirit of Motown whilst easily slipping in and out of 70’s funky disco and 80’s dance classics.

Driving the Motown bus is our small - but perfectly formed - drummer and an extraordinarily and horizontally laid back (aren’t they all?) bass player. The line up is completed by the nimble fingered duo of ‘fingers’ on guitar and occasional guest singer Aidan, who brings the cool to the outfit. Millie is a keyboard wizard and also plays with the band at bigger gigs. Aided and abetted by our fabulous dancers at bigger festivals this is one show not to be missed!

Oh, and did we mention that all the band sing too? This makes the Motown Pirates quite unique as you really ain’t heard nothing like all of them in full flow – harmonies anyone?
