Women across the globe are getting dressed up in their best frocks, make-up and hair do's to put their weekly rubbish out

Angie Emrys-Jones from Threemilestone set up the Facebook page ‘Put your bins out in your Ballgown’ to brighten up people’s day and make others smile.

In less than a week it gained nearly 3,000 members from Cornwall to Australia and now has 14,000 users.

She told Pirate FM: “We were supposed to be at an awards ceremony and because events like this got cancelled, we thought let’s wear our frocks anyway and have our tea Friday night in our frocks.

“It's things to do, brighten things up and just being silly and ridiculous in the face of all this doom and gloom."

This idea has now captivated many people who are now sharing photos and videos of not only putting their bins out but doing general housework too.
