It's Bill & Ted Day as new film trailer is released

Published at 4:09pm 9th June 2020.

While a huge number of films are delayed because of Coronavirus, Bill & Ted fans can party on because the new film is still coming out this year.

Movies like the latest Bond film, No Time To Die, have been shelved until later with cinemas shut down.

But the studio behind Bill & Ted Face The Music have today released the film's first official trailer - with the film due out "Summer 2020".

The teaser is just over a minute long and we see Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) now middle-aged, still trying to  "save reality as we know it" by writing a song to unite the world.

They decide to head to the future, debate the question: "How is that stealing if we're stealing it from ourselves, dude?" and end up meeting some rather buff, prison versions of themselves.

The film is the third in the trilogy, almost 20 years in the making, following on from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure in 1989 and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey in 1991.

It is directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Fun with Dick and Jane, Red 2) and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.
