Published at 12:00am 5th May 2020.

Every day we will be bringing you our Cornish musical recommendations that you can check out for a bit of lockdown listening.

Then each weekend we'll upload our playlist compilation featuring the best of the week.

As well as being featured on Pirate's social media and here on our Superblog, the bands will also get snippets of their songs played on air.

To feature, send us an email with a bio, a picture and links to your social media pages to ellie.hodgkinson@piratefm.co.uk

Jack Kessell is a 26 year old Cornish born folk/pop singer songwriter from Portreath. After spending the last 4 years on the local covers circuit as a solo performer and also as the front man for local Cornish rock covers band 558, he has set 2020 in his sights to begin his career as an original artist........

Jack’s songwriting style has been largely influenced by classic folk artists such as Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, alongside more contemporary artists like Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons. The singer songwriter also takes inspiration from pop performers such as Fleetwood Mac and John Mayer which help mold his songwriting style and performance.

He released his first single ‘Heaven’s Touch’ on the 24th of February this year, which was selected by notable Youtube indie playlist curators Mahogany to feature on their ‘Chilled Folk Vol. 2 Indie Folk Compilation’ in March and more recently on alexrainbirdMusic’s new  ‘Wake Up Happy’ playlist which currently sits at 119k views after one week of its upload!

Jack is planning to continue with a string of releases throughout the year and as soon as possible to get out and showcase his material and musical style!
