Help 'keep the vibes alive' at Mount Pleasant Eco Park

Published at 5:20pm 15th May 2020.

Mount Pleasant Eco Park, an independent community venue in Porthtowan, is asking for help to be able to survive.

The venue holds everything from live music gigs and international music festivals to roots culture markets and sustainable workshops. But, with an emphasis on being built with the environment in mind, Mount Pleasant Eco Park has grown to be more than just a venue.

They boast rich habitats for local wildlife with their wildflower fields, as well as a community garden and organic allotments. Across their 42 acres you can find a wind turbine, biomass boiler and 4000 trees, planted on their community tree planting days.

When lockdown hit, the team had to postpone gigs, cancel events, close their campsite and refund countless bookings. Whilst income has completely stopped, outgoings have not and they still have insurance, staff costs, supplier bills and more, to pay, which is how their Crowdfunder was kick started.

‘We wish to continue to provide an inspiring community space where people can meet, enjoy music, dance, connect, plant, share ideas and good times once it is safe to do so, but we need your help to make that happen. You can donate any amount you choose via our Crowdfunder campaign, or you can pledge for one of our rewards - we need you to think to the future with us!

We really love being a part of this vibrant community and cannot thank you enough for all your support.’

Tim Stirrup, owner of Mount Pleasant Eco Park

With a target of £20,000, Mount Pleasant Eco Park are offering a wide range of 'rewards' in return for donations. Tonnes of items from, yearly memberships, or family camping holidays to locally made produce are on offer as an incentive for those who donate.

You can check out the full list of rewards, find out more, or donate, on their Crowdfunder page, here!
