Introducing the winner of Isolation Idol

Published at 5:05pm 2nd June 2020.

Following three rounds to find the four finalists, the winner of Cornwall Pride's Isolation Idol has been crowned.

Ciaran Rutherford, Eilidh Armstrong, Charlie Louise and Perrin Hopper all made it to the final.

The finalists had to each perform twice, with one original song and one cover of their choice.

The live stream reached over 5K views within the hour, with the public voting for their favourite.

Over public 1,000 votes decided the top two - who were announced as Charlie Louise and Perrin Hopper.

The casting vote was then handed over to the four judges, who, to keep the competition fair, weren't given the public vote figures.

Perrin Hopper was then crowned the Isolation Idol winner after they got three of the four votes.

'Thank you so so so much for everyone who entered. It has been so so very special for everyone involved ❤'

Matthew Kentworthy Gomes - Cornwall Pride

Perrin Hopper, who made the final after winning the non binary/group/drag category, used their original song 'The 2K20 Blues' to help clinch the victory.

As the Isolation Idol winner, Perrin has won recording time in a famous London recording studio, their original track submitted to Global Pride 2020 for consideration and they are Cornwall Pride's ambassador for Pride UK - duties for which have already begun as Perrin performed for Oxford Pride online at the weekend.

Perrin is also Cornwall Pride's headline promoted act for the next Cornwall Pride.
