Four Cornish companies are working together to give the gift of a cream tea to NHS staff.

Chacewater Bakery, Carters Packaging Limited, Rodda's and BJ Press Printers want to help show appreciation for workers at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

For National Cream Tea Day on June 26 they are going to be giving boxed treats to staff starting and finishing their shifts.

"Last year on National Cream Tea Day we sold boxed cream tea’s and with support from local businesses we raised over £1,000 for The Friends of Royal Cornwall Hospital," said Sarah from Chacewater Bakery.

"This year we are in very different times but we thought we could approach it differently this year and still try to raise some funds for this fabulous local charity.

"We are working with other local businesses including Carters Packaging, Rodda’s and BJ Press and we would like to invite the community to purchase a boxed cream to be delivered to staff at the hospital on National Cream Tea to show our appreciation for all the work they have done through this difficult time.

"In doing this we will also be donating the proceeds to The Friends of The Royal Cornwall Hospital.

"In addition if people would like to purchase a boxed cream tea for themselves, friends or relatives this can also be done with all proceeds being donated."

The boxes are £4.50 and can be donated by calling Sarah on 07734 994770 or email

All proceeds will go to Friends of Royal Cornwall Hospital.

If you want a box for yourself you can also order two and collect from the bakery.
