Prince Harry and Meghan become parents

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have welcomed their first baby and it is a boy!

Prince Harry and Meghan shared the news on their new Instagram account.

The post on @sussexroyal is simply a plain blue background with the words: "It's a boy".

The new addition to the Royal family was born at 5.26am on Monday morning, weighing 7lbs 3oz.

The couple and their new arrival are believed to be at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

Pirate FM understands they are surrounded by friends and family, including Meghan's mum.

In a live interview, a beaming Prince Harry said it was the most amazing experience he could imagine.

The Duke added that mother and baby are doing well, but that they have not decided on a name yet.

Close friends and family were told first thing on Monday morning, including the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince Harry has confirmed that the couple will introduce the baby to the world in the next couple of days.
