Leslie Nielsen Dies - Again

Leslie Nielsen, Star of ‘Airplane’ and ‘The Naked Gun’ sadly died back in November 2010. However, from recent events, you would have expected this to be new information.

Leslie Nielsen was trending on Twitter and Facebook on Tuesday after people were led to believe the comedy star had died, again.

A BBC article had resurfaced, which pronounced the death of Nielsen back in 2010. Thousands of people began sharing the news story, without looking at the published date.

The article soon made it onto the “Most Read” section, with even more people sharing the post - creating a snowball effect and resulting in a few embarrassing tweets for many social media users.

His 'second death' however lead to a whole outpouring of tributes in memory of the actor, with fans sharing their favourite quotes and memories from his films such as ‘Airplane!’.

Nielsen died in hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, while being treated for pneumonia.
