Pirate FM can reveal more than 140 bottles and cans of booze have been confiscated from teenagers in Newquay over the last week.

Police say a lot of it is being bought by parents.booze

Officers found up to twenty teenagers in a flat on Friday at an underage drinking party.

Inspector Ian Drummond-Smith tells us about the biggest haul so far: "We broke up a big party in a private rented apartment last Friday night which was all sixteen year olds, and one was taken off to hospital. There alone, we found a bin bag full of empty cans, and also eight empty bottles of vodka.

"It's a big worry that the under eighteen's have got this amount of alcohol, but hopefully the fact that we've been able to seize so much so far during the first week of the big influx of under eighteens into the town. Hopefully that means our operation is working."
